In recent years the situation has markedly improved in the sphere of social care. (The excellent reputation of the services of the Hospice of Agnes of Bohemia in Červený Kostelec extends beyond the borders of the region. Another hospice-type establishment was opened in the year 2001 in Žireč near Dvůr Králové nad Labem).

Available services for elderly people in Hradec Králové Region are: counseling, home care, day services, nursing or residential home, respite care. Services supported people in their own homes for as long as they feel in favour of them. Most of services also support the relatives who do the caring, as well as the person they care for.
